2. What universal needs or desires are represented in this story? What needs/desires might be particular to the Greeks?
I think that the biggest desire in this story is power. This really ties into what Mr. Jana was saying about being able to relate to this story even thought the time period and culture was drasically different. It is the same struggle for power and rightiousness that we see commonly in movies, read in books, and witness in our everyday lives. It is hard to say what desires or needs are particular to the Greeks knowing only this little bit about their culture, but I think that power is undoubtably a universal desire that is a part of every culture.
